Middleton Place, Charleston, South Carolina
Mom & Grandma visited Middleton Place while on a bus tour visit to the Charleston area in 1979. This pretty postcard was sent to me at college and is postmarked March 30th. Grandma writes:
"Hi Sweetie, We have really made a day of it. Dragging a little now. Tomorrow we take our boat ride out to Fort Sumter. The weather is beautiful. We had front seats on the bus 1/2 way down. They rotate. Tell Katherine hi,
Love, Grandma"
Beautiful azaleas!

Note from Dad
This is a note that my Dad left on the kitchen table one evening in the mid 80s. It was there when I got home and reads:
"We have gone to the movies at the 6:30 feature. We should be back around nine-thirty more or less. Time Wolf's pill for then and I'll help you give it to him.
Tuna is in the fridge, for sandwiches."

Curlicue Virginia Pine
This small Virginia Pine in our woods decided to grow in an amusing curlicue instead of straight and tall. Maybe it wanted to be a french horn instead of a tree! I don't know what conditions would exist to cause it to deviate from the norm like it has but I always chuckle when I pass by it.

Jungle Cruise
My grandmother & mother went to Disney World in 1985 and had a great time! She was 75 years old at the time and although anxious to take the trip was concerned about being able to keep the pace. Sounds like she did fine though! Grandma sent me this postcard on April 16th and writes:
"I really enjoyed yesterday - I kept up with your mama. I didn't ride Thunder Mountain.
We are going to Epcot this AM. It is foggy & rainy this morning. Hope today is as nice as yesterday.
Take care -
Love,
Grandma"
