Schloss Neuschwanstein
Grandma's good friend Ruth sent me this postcard of the German royal castle Neuschwanstein while visiting her granddaughter. It's postmarked October 13, 1994. She writes:
"I know it was good to see your Grandma. I know she could hardly wait to go. I'm having a nice time with my granddaughter and family. Germany is a beautiful country. Love, Ruth"

Lemon Refrigerator Dessert (or Pie)
In 1950, my mother purchased this sweet little handmade recipe booklet that a Home Economics class at Allentown High School had put together with a collection of their favorite dessert recipes. It's small and the end pieces are cardboard with the front and back held together by yarn.

My great-grandmother's wedding day photo - October 30, 1907
This is my great-grandmother Sibyl on her wedding day with her first husband, George Robert Lake. She was 18 years old. He was in his early 20s and sadly passed away a little over a year after the marriage from a lung ailment. They had no children. She married my great-grandfather 2 years later.
