Gracie & Petunia ~~ January 2016
Gracie was doing her best to coax Petunia to play with her but we had been for a long walk and she was cold & wet and wanted nothing more to do with the snow! All she wanted to do was get warm and dry!

Rufus' Weathervane
Dad had torn this simple plan for a Rufus weathervane out of a Mechanix Illustrated probably back in the 1960s or 1970s based on the brittleness of the paper. I tried to find some reference to the Rufus weathervane online but couldn't find a single thing!

Why in the world are her calves bare? And such a classic Dad manoevre to walk around taking photos while someone else shoveled the sidewalk!

Hi Valentine ~~ 1960s
We made Valentines every year when I was in elementary school and I'm not sure which year this particular one was made but I'm guessing it would have been between 1966 & 1968,

Grandma & Co-Workers ~~ Danville, VA ~~ January 1940
Grandma & her co-workers took advantage of a rare snowstorm that hit Danville in 1940 to have some winter fun. I did some looking online for specifics and it looks like they received 22.9 inches from that storm! She had written on the back of the photos "January 1940, 21 inches".
Interesting weather site ~~~~~> Click here!
In the top photo, Grandma is in the back peering over the woman's shoulder. She wrote that the woman in front of her was Evelyn Scott and the woman on the left was Betty Hila or Sila. (I can't quite make it out.)
In the bottom photo, Grandma is on the far right next to Betty, Scott, Mrs. Mills, Mrs. Stanfield & Paul Mc.
