This Easter postcard was sent by my great-grandmother Sibyl to Lizzie Mann (her sister-in-law & my great-grandfather's sister) in Danville, Virginia.  Lizzie's name was Elizabeth Virginia but everyone called her Lizzie or in my grandmother's case she was "Aunt Lizzie". Aunt Lizzie and Aunt Rosie were mainstays in my grandmother's early life after the untimely death of her parents.

I know Pinnell's is no longer in Petersburg so I looked online to see if they operate elsewhere and found that they still have a location in Richmond.  I know this motor got a lot of use!!

My Step-Cat Fred ~~ June 1997

Jack adopted Fred from the Richmond SPCA when he was a kitten about 3 years before we met.  He lived to be 16 years old ~~~ he was quite a character!

These were taken in our backyard.  Dad loved to build boats and he made several of various designs over the years.  I have found most of the prints/patterns that he used for them in his garage.  Before he passed away, he was talking of building a canoe and I found those prints also.

Those are not bullet holes in the bottom photo of the boat ~~ they're nicks in the photo!

Grandma is in the back row & sitting on the right underneath where she wrote "Me" on the photo.   Her friend Julia is sitting in front of her.  The bottom is inscribed "Our Gang".  They look like they're all having a lot of silly fun!
