Grandma Letter ~~ Postmarked May 1, 1993

She wrote:

Dear Shelby & Jack,

Thanks for the nice newsy letter & the card is so pretty!

Now you can call yourself a land owner!  I'm sure it is nice & I can't blame you for being excited.

I took Ruth to bring Harold home from the hospital the other day.  He was in for about 10 days.  He gets worse all the time.  He can never be cured.  The disease is hereditary.  His niece has it too.

I went to Dr. Shore yesterday.  I get pains in my left side & arm.  He told me to keep nitrostat handy & when I get the pain to put one under my tongue.  Also he gave me an antibiotic for my sinus.

I'm sending you the card I got from "Reminisce" magazine.  I got one copy so far from you & one copy from Ruth.  I don't know what they are going to do about the double subscription.

Yes, Tara's chows are friendly but they gave Donna a beagle that is nasty.  He grabbed my arm one time & stands & barks at me.  He bit the child next door.

I made a strawberry & rhubarb pie when your Mom was here.  I think they are good!  I am going to make some broccoli soup.  I love it.

Well hon, I will close now & let me hear from you when you have the chance.

Love always,

Grandma

Wooden Shelves ~~ Country Living Magazine ~~ April 2004

Dad pulled tore this photo of shelves out of a magazine, no doubt intending to build them himself.  I don't think he ever got around to it though.  This would have been an easy project for him and he probably wanted them for his workspace in the garage.

Ticket Stubs ~~ Baltimore Orioles V/S New York Yankees ~~ April 17, 1966

These ticket stubs were from the April 17, 1966 baseball game in Baltimore between the Baltimore Orioles and the New York Yankees.  My parents went with a neighbor couple.  Mildred made reference to the game in a letter and my mother tucked the stubs into the letter.

The Orioles won the day ~~ 5 to 4 !
