Here's The Giant Vulture Wishing You A Happy Halloween! ~~ 1978

This Halloween Snoopy card was sent to me at college by Mom shortly after a visit by her and Chris who was a family friend.  She wrote inside:

"Chris and I made it home alright.  She said she enjoyed it.  What did you do after we left?  Dad is washing the car & truck today.  I had to clean and do a couple loads of wash.  I must write to Grandma.  I'm glad we could come yesterday, wish Dad could have too but he will be busy now until the end of the year.  Let us hear from you and see if you can't bring your French grade up a bit.  Happy Halloween.  Love,  Mom"

Love the zinger about the French grade at the end!  Oh well, c'est la vie!

Inside the card, Snoopy says "I thought about being a giant bat, but hanging upside-down all night makes me dizzy!".

Mom's Crepe Myrtles ~~ July 2017

The Colonel ~~ Southside SPCA, Meherrin, VA ~~ 1995

This was Colonel the day we first saw him at the shelter when we took some items to donate to their thrift shop.  He was born at the shelter to a mother who had been brought in as a stray. At four months old, he was the last of his litter left un-adopted.  It was a pretty day and they had moved some of the dogs outside and he was sharing a small pen with 2 young beagles.  The beagles were romping and playing and Colonel was his trademark mellow self.  Classic Colonel ~~ sticking close to the food bowl!

"Hi Honey, We are getting ready to drive into the park this morning.  Stayed last night in Gallup, New Mexico.  Hope everything there is okay.  It is rather cool here in the morning but went to 90F yesterday."
