Dear Shelby,
Received your nice letter. Always glad to hear from you.
It is rainy & damp here. The temperature is only in the low 70s.
I went to the nose, ear & throat doctor on Wednesday. My left ear is not what it should be. I have trouble hearing some times on tv. I have a slight hearing problem. He doesn't want to see me for a year, so it couldn't be too bad. It is terrible to get old! Dr. Shore thinks I'm doing great!
I am anxious to come down. Your mom said it probably will be Sept.
Ruth leaves for Germany on Sept. 14th. She doesn't know how long she will stay. I bet she gets home sick!
Are you working on your "estate"? I bet it is hot to do too much.
The pistachio pie is delicious. I gave Mrs. Wallace a piece, also Louise & I ate the rest! Be sure & drain the pineapple well or it won't get as firm as it should be.
I love your stamps & return address stickers.
My needle work is coming along. All I have to do is her collar. There sure was a lot of work on it!
Did I tel you we saw Schindler's List? The movie was great. We also went to see "Forrest Gump". I really enjoyed that.
Not much news here, so write soon & take care.
Love Always,
Grandma,
Love to Jack!
P.S. The reason I didn't give Ruth a piece of pie is because she is on a diet.
