Dear Shelby,
Received your nice letter yesterday & thanks.
I hope you have had some rain by now. It rained off & on Monday & Tuesday. Philly got over 2".
I like my new shoes. I can't believe I got them for $31.
I'm sure you will enjoy working on your pillow cases. I used to do so much of that.
The doctor says to leave it covered until this coming Tuesday. By then it should be healed. There is only a small scab on it now. It was the size of a nickle. I use a salve called Polysporin & I put that on and a clean band-aid every morning.
I went to Donna's on Saturday & really had a nice time. I know so many of Bernie & Donna's families. She had everything you can imagine to eat. We sat on the patio. There is a huge tree shading it & that was nice. Donna gave me two halupkas to bring home. I love them. When I lived there on Ott Blvd, every time she made them, I always got some. They are made with hamburger, rice & seasoning & rolled in a cabbage leaf, put in a roaster & Italian sauce poured over them and baked. Yum!
Jana is also ready enrolled in a college. I'm just not sure of the name but it is out past Harrisburg. She was always on the honor roll.
I went to my eye doctor yesterday. I knew I had cataracts but they take a long time to develop. Well, the one in my left eye is starting to bother me now & Dr. Jones thinks I should have it removed & an implant put in. That helps restore sight. Harold had both eyes done last year. He said for me to talk to Dr. Shore & see if it would be okay. I have lost so much weight, at least 15 lbs & that has got to stop. I have been eating well so I don't know what is causing it. I go back to Dr. Shore on the 2nd of July.
Donna's nephew's little girl is named Shelby & I found out Saturday (they were at Donna's) her birthday is July 28!!! What a coincidence. She is real cute & a little blonde.
I am glad Jack got his card. As you know, I haven't been to the mall since before Xmas! I just can't walk around like that just yet. My legs get weak. I doubt I will ever be okay again.
Well hon, take care & let me hear from you!
Love always,
Grandma
Love to Jack!
