Dear Shelby,
Received your nice & newsy letter!
It is nice here today but has been rainy & dreary.
I hope you received your cookies okay! Your mom said you & Jack came over on Friday.
Did you win anything on the football kitty?
I have the middle part of the afghan almost done and then I have to do the ruffle.
They are starting to have meals here on Tuesdays. Ruth and I are signed up. They have a menu for the month and you decide which meals you want. They are only on Tuesdays. This week my entree is Veal Cutlet Marsala and includes Minestrone Soup, Peas, Fruited Jello, Garlic Sticks and a banana. Also coffee, tea, milk, etc. It's a pretty nice meal for the money!
I'm reading Michael Korda's "The Fortune" It is very good.
I'm sure you are anxious to get outside ~~ the winter seems so long.
I went to the Farmer's Market and got your mom one pound of orange cappuccino coffee. I had Ruth grind me a little of it so I could try it. I made it this morning and it tasted pretty good!
Well hon, I better get supper started so write when you can. Take care and love to Jack.
Love always,
Grandma
P.S. In the pictures with the cars, the 4th one up (white) is mine. Note the little white spot on the tree. That is the ball on my antenna. It helps me find it in parking lots!
A friend in the upper building took them at Christmas. I borrowed the negatives.
