Grandma Letter ~~ Postmarked July 11, 1988

She wrote:

Dear Shelby,

Glad to hear from you.  I was born on a Thursday like you.  Your mom was born on Sunday evening at 6:50 PM.

I didn't see the needlepoint kit in the catalog.  I never did much needlepoint.

It is 100F here today and believe me, I'm staying inside.

I didn't do anything on the 4th.  They had fireworks at the stadium.  About 20,000 people were there & about that many in the grass around the lake & in the park.

We need rain so badly - the grass is all yellow.

I saw "King Solomon's Mines" several times and I always enjoyed it.  

Well hon, not much news so let me hear from you.
