Poinsettia From Last Christmas ~~ November 2018
I bought 4 poinsettias last Christmas and 3 of them perished after the holidays except for this one. It spent the spring and summer on the porch and thrived. It's still thriving after coming back inside to winter although it hasn't turned red again. Still pretty and healthy though!

Dear Shelby,
I thought this was such a cute card I'd use it instead of regular paper.
It is very cold here - down to two degrees this a.m. Snow predicted for tomorrow.
I finished my sweater and the "Gone With the Wind" picture & am at loose ends. I have a summer sweater I want to start.
Your Mom said you would be over on Wednesday when I come down. It will be so good to see you & Jack.
I made a batch of cookie dough yesterday & put it in the freezer. It is rolled into logs & frozen instead of rolling it and you just slice it. It is a bland sort of cookie but I am going to melt chocolate & make a sandwich of it. Should be good. Your Mom said she is sending me a couple of recipes. I went from church yesterday & got a few supplies I needed for cookies. I have such a load of "stuff" - I mean the luggage is taking up so much room, I hope I can get it all in the car, plus all the cookies.
Yesterday, I addressed cards. It takes 20 for this floor. We just slip them under each other's door.
Well hon, I better close now, so write when you can . Hope to see you soon.
Love Always,
Grandma

Dear Shelby,
Received your nice letter & as usual, glad to hear from you.
Yes, the pot pie was good.
I must get started on cookies. I want to give Mrs. Wallace some for Adam. He is in a nursing home.
I mailed you a small package yesterday. Don't let the box fool you. It isn't much but it is cute!
I see by the paper today, they are going to televise the Mummer's Parade. If you can get it, at least see the string bands & the fancy dress. I assume by the paper, it will be on nationwide.
I had my pictures developed last week. I will send you some, a few at a time.
Did you survive all the rain? It rained for 4 days here. It started as snow & sleet.
Yes, the flannel sheets do feel good.
I received a nice box from your Mom & Dad. Fruit, candy & nuts!
Well hon, I must get to the store so let me hear from you. Take care.
Love Always,
Grandma
