Grandma Letter ~~ Postmarked October 12, 1993

She wrote:

Dear Shelby,

Thanks for the letter & news!

Ruth says Harold is about the same.  I took him to the foot doctor on Wednesday & to the barber for a haircut.  Ruth says she was about to put rollers in it!

I'm glad you enjoyed your Washington trip.  When I lived there it was a nice place.

I went to the dentist this week for my 6 month check-up.

I think they are going to paint my apartment before too long.  What a mess that will be.  They put a lot of your "stuff" in the hallway for 2 days.  All the small stuff has to be put in boxes.  No one bothers anything though.

I'm starting to read a Janet Dailey book called "Rivals".  I like her books.  That book of yours that I read -- "The Great Alone" -- was very good.

Did I tell you I dislocated my little toe?  It was all black & blue.  I can get sneakers on but it hurts.  It is still swollen on my instep and the toe.

Well hon, not much news so write when you can & give my love to Jack!  Take care.

Love always,
Grandma

P.S.  Donna gave me a permanent.  Nicole is going to a hospital in Delaware.  She told me what her problem is but I can't even say it much less write it.
