Friendly Critters

Here's a little card that Mildred sent to me at college in the early 1980s and accompanied by a box of petit fours.  Inside she writes:

"I was in Thalheimers the other day and decided to send you a little something.  With my love always, Mildred"

And that something was always delicious and very much appreciated!

What kind of Valentine are you? I'm a Nonchalant Valentine!

You Are a Nonchalant Valentine
You're happy to celebrate Valentine's Day if your sweetie is into it, but it's really not your thing.
You think love transcends commercial holidays, and you definitely don't put a lot of stock in V-Day.

Your perfect Valentine's Day date is low key and easy... No gifts if you can help it.
You think it's a lot more meaningful to spend a quiet night at home together than to go to a fancy restaurant.

What kind of winter hat are you? I'm a hat with flaps!

You Are a Hat With Flaps
You are fun loving, cheerful, and even pretty cute most of the time.
You use fashion to play. You never take style all that seriously.

You're the type most likely to wear a funny t-shirt or goofy hat.
But when it comes time to clean up, you clean up nicely.

If you can smile on a cloudy day ...

This doublesided stand up card was sent to me in the early 1970s while I was in the hospital recovering from surgery.  I love the little winsome Betsey Clark figures!  In this season of colds and flu, they look comforting in their warm quilts and homey environment.  I'm sure there's some lemon & honey tea in there somewhere!  I don't remember the people who sent the card and only remember their names.  They were a family that my parents became friendly with at the hospital as their daughter was in the same ward as me at the time.  I hope she fared as well!
