Grandma Letter ~~ Postmarked October 14, 1992

Dear Shelby,

Thanks for the nice letter.  I love the dog picture.  Our "Mickey" would get dirty all over.  He got up under the house & rolled in the dry dust.

My leg is still sore.  I have a big knot on it yet.

Yes, Ruth & I went out to lunch.  We went to the old hotel we used to have.  They really have changed it a lot!!  She took us up stairs that used to be our living quarters.  They knocked the walls out & made it into one big room for parties.  The floor was all the random width boards that were there when we moved in.  It is really nice.

We still have melons.  They are sold in half or quarter sections.

We get our flu shots this weekend.

Our Blue Cross is changing its format.  Fewer ways to pick.  I am taking one that is $40 over what I'm paying for it now.  But you don't have to have a $100 deductable.  They pay that.  So it has a few other "goodies".  Like home care when you come from the hospital.  It used to be $254 every three months.  When I started with Blue Cross, I paid $27 every 3 months.  Times are a changing!

Did you see the debates?  I enjoy them.  The poor fellow Perot has can't even talk.

Well hon, I better get this downstairs or I'm going to miss the mailman.

Love always,
Grandma

Love to Jack!!
