Grandma Letter ~~ Postmarked October 23, 1995

 

She wrote:

Dear Shelby,

Another beautiful crisp day.  It was 38F yesterday morning.

Do you have a stream near your ponds?  When you wrote "cows", I couldn't imagine you milking!!  Your Mom says they are not milk cows though.  I think the willow tree will be lovely.

Bunny says she is really not up on her crocheting.  I finally figured it out myself, after two weeks of ripping.  I have about 6" done.  It goes fast after you know what you're doing!   These are the two colors along with the off-white.  It is a ripple effect.

I have been working on the cross stitch between times.  It is doing very well and as you say it is lovely.

The visual field is where you look at a tiny light in front of you & when you see a light any where on the screen, you click a button.  The light could be any where but you must look straight ahead at the light in the center.  It is tiring!

Ruth & I went to the mall on the bus just for the experience.  We caught the bus over on the corner and it goes right over to the mall after going through most of Allentown.  Seniors have free passes.  

Is your Christmas cactus getting any sun?  I have one in the window in the hall.  The sun is really bringing out new growth.  

Well hon, I better close & get something done, so write when you can & love to you and Jack.
