Grandma Letter ~~ May 18, 1988

She wrote:

Dear Shelby,

It was so nice to see you & Jack again!

Thanks again for the strawberries.  They are delicious.  I fixed them yesterday evening.  They are about the nicest I have seen in a long time.

I had a good trip home.  Only it rained very hard after I passed Harrisburg but had stopped before I got to Allentown.

I hope your outing to Busch Gardens was a success.  We had a nice time at the Pottery Factory, etc.  I was tired, but certainly enjoyed it.

My microwave table is still in the car.  I haven't been able to get in touch with Ruth to help me take it out.  It is too heavy for me.

Thanks for the books,  I know I will enjoy them.

I want to get the "little boy" cross stitch finished so I can go on to other things.  Ruth wants a Santa Claus stocking like I made your dad.  That was a "dilly" too.

Well hon, I better close here and get this downstairs, so let me hear from you when you get the chance.

Love always,
Grandma

Love to Jack!

Grandma wrote on the back:

I hope by now you are trying your legs a bit.  Just think, it won't be too much longer before you can go home - won't that be wonderful!  I know Bebe has missed you & also the kitten.  I understand you have gotten quite a few cards from some of my friends.  Keep trying and doing the best you can.

Love,
Grandma
