Grandma Letter ~~ Postmarked August 11, 1994
She wrote:
Thanks for such a nice long letter.
Yes, everything went fine. Dr. Jones was very pleased. Dr. Shore was pleased that I have gained the weight back.
I have 3 Christmas cactuses ~~ I really don't have room for all of them. Could you use one? They are quite large. I found something yellow growing in one of them yesterday. It turned out to be mushrooms. They grew about 2" high. There were four of them.
I made the pie. I gave some to Mrs. Wallace :& Louise.
Yes, Ruth seems to be okay. She is going to Germany - Frankfort around the first week in September. She will be home for her birthday.
Those cookies were delicious. I love Heath Bars anyway.
It is very nice here. The nights go down to the low 50s.
They had "May Day" down at the stadium last night. This month they are having Drum & Bugle Corps in competition. They come from all over the country. It gets to be rather hectic around here. They play until midnight. It will be a weekend affair.
