Dear Shelby,

What a day!  I've been on the go all day.  Louise just got home from the hospital (knee surgery).  She lives in #315.  I got her some groceries & over to the drug store for her medicine etc.

Thanks for the nice letter.  I'm glad you are done with the trees.

Ruth will be in Tulsa for about two weeks.

Yes, I watched "Buffalo Girls".  It was good.

It is raining here today and a bit chilly.

The little duck finally hatched her eggs on Monday.  She had 9.  How she ever got them down to the lake, I'll never know, I guess.

I've lost interest in the soaps.  They are so stupid at this time.  I can't keep interest in them.

Did you eat your shoo-fly yet?  They had Kemp's frozen yogurt on sale for $1.99 so I got 1/2 gallon of the peach.

I hope you got some good strawberries.  I am waiting for cantaloupes.  I've had quite a few berries already.

She wrote: 

Dear Shelby,

Received your pretty card yesterday.  I love the stamp.  I am eating good meals & have a good appetite.

I'm reading a mystery story for a change.  Called "Silent Witness".

The weather is nice here -- I took Mrs. Wallace out to see Adam yesterday & I hope I never get in the shape some of those people are in!  Bunny went to Germany & Switzerland so her niece (great) is supposed to take her out to see him but she is always busy!

They are having Mayfair here in the lake area.  It will be for 5 days.  Last year the crowd was 350,000.  Can you imagine that many people around our area.  It is full of arts & crafts & music & food, etc.  They have huge tents all around the lake & dancing areas.  Imagine it is only a block away!  I am sending you a clipping from the paper.

I am glad you are doing so well.  Just be careful.  I have 3 more weeks to go on my eye drops.  I will have to use some kind of drops all my life but at least it won't be this bad.

I bought strawberries yesterday at the Giant.  They are loose & you pick the ones you want.  They are so good.
