Dear Shelby,

Thanks for the nice letter.  I received your package on Friday!  Good timing.  Thanks for the "goodies" & the needlework.  I can always enjoy chocolate.  I have started on the picture.  It is going to be pretty.

When Ruth and I went to Perkins, we both had a salad.  She had a Caesar salad and I had a BLT salad.

I have been invited out for Mother's Day.  Jana called me :& said they were taking her mom & dad out on Saturday because she has to work Sunday.  They wanted me to go along.  We are going to the "Olive Garden".

I talked to your mom this morning & the window people were just arriving to put in the window.  

Last Tuesday we had fish fillet, macaroni & cheese, stewed tomatoes & broccoli plus milk & an apple (coffee too!).  

We have quite a crowd up there.  For $1.25 you can't beat it.

I love your margins on your letter!

I'm sure your flowers will be pretty.  I hope everything grows.

Are you having your porch painted?

I just read one of Catherine Cookson's books "The Rag Nymph".  It was good.

Dear Shelby,

Here we are at the weekend again.  It isn't going to be much longer before you come home for a few weeks.

We had a bad storm last night.  It started just immediately after I got in the house.  I'm glad it didn't start before that because it was really raining very hard.

Everything here is about the same.  I bought some tomato plants at lunch time yesterday.  If if isn't too wet out this evening I hope to get them planted.

Did I tell you Dad and I are going to Grandma's next Friday?  We're looking forward to it.

Well honey, I must get everything done before leaving this morning so take care and be good.
