So True!

If people would concentrate on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Foods Rich in Antioxidants

I found this is in my grandmother's recipe box tucked between the index cards.  Looks like she cut it out of Time Magazine in 1991.  Good info to know!

So True!

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Cake-Pops

The lovechild of the cupcake and lollipop ... perfect!!  I've never seen one but you can bet I'll be on the look-out ... too adorable to pass up!  See the link below for the full scoop ... as the bumper sticker says ... Make cupcakes, not war!

Sweet Graphic

Another "last of the pack" note card that I couldn't part with ... I love the sweetness of it.  I don't know the name of these characters but they've graced many a Hallmark card over the years!  I'm going to guess that this particular note card was from the 1980s.

The Gong Show

Back in the 70's, I used to LOVE the Gong Show!  It was soooooooooo awful that it was mesmerizing!  The show not only showcased cheesy talent but it was infused with humor and the combination was irresistableThis is a great clip except that now I can't get the song out of my head!!

What kind of flower are you?

Lost Cat!

I love this lost cat classified ad for obvious reasons!  I hope Shelby found her way home and all turned out well!  :)

Happy Father's Day!

I wish my father were still here ... his unexpected death two years ago was quite a blow to us all.  He was such a fun person and even at age 85 never seemed old.  Just an all around great guy and nothing I could write would do him justice.  Here he is in 1964 at Easter when my parents would take us to Battlefield Park (that explains the cannon!) for Easter egg hunts.  I don't recall ever seeing him in a tie again except for funerals or weddings ... he just wasn't a tie kinda man!  Happy Father's Day, Dad!

Roots of Breakdance (Run DMC - It's Like That)

This is one of my favorite YouTube clips ... I could watch it over and over!  I wish I were as nimble as those Russian soldiers!

Have a good laugh!

Life as we know it

I love this cat graphic ... it looks like something out of a book of nursery rhymes!  It's on the front of a Gibson Greetings card sent to me in 1997 by my oldest friend & former roomie who shall for now be referred to as "K" until she & I have grown more comfortable putting personal information online ... still dipping our toes in the water ... complete immersion later!  Anyway, K sent the card to give me her new mailing address prior to moving to South Carolina.  Remember when it was all important to share mailing addresses v/s email addresses?  I love the internet and emails as much as anyone but nothing compares to a card or letter waiting for me in the mailbox.  Emails are fun as well as practical but they'll never rank as ephemera.

Tintype your photos!

This is a fun site ~~~~~> http://labs.wanokoto.jp/olds

You download a modern photo and they give it a vintage tintype look.  The site is Japanese but it's easy to figure out what to do!  I used the (3) photos that I have on the right margin and here's how they came out:

Ready to Start!

Okay, after a few scuffles with the scanner, it has decided to cooperate and I'm ready to post.   There won't be any timeline order to these posts, just whatever I run across first!  Here we go!
