Pansy Note Card & Letter from Grandma - January 1988

Grandma mailed this note card & letter to me on January 31, 1988.  The towel she mentions is a beautiful hand towel with cross stitched hearts on the border. It's so lovely that I've never been able to bring myself to use it.  She also enclosed the photo of my mother taken at the Rose Garden a block or two from her apartment in Allentown.  She writes:

"Dear Shelby,

Received your nice letter & thanks.  It is raining here this AM & dreary.  It is supposed to get very cold & snow later in the week.

Glad your co-worker is doing well.

I will mail your towel this week.  I was going to today but since it is raining, I will go tomorrow.  I'm glad you liked the picture.  I love doing things like that. Did your Mom tell you she got her sweater I made for her?  I thought it was very pretty.  She said she likes it & it fits.

I am sending you a picture.  I will send more in the next letter.

My arms are giving me a lot of pain just now.  The doctor says it is bursitis.

I can't wait to see "Lonesome Dove".  Remember, you gave me that book some years back.  I want to reread it after I see the series. I did that with "Shogun" & enjoyed it much more.

Well hon, write when you can & take care.

Love always,

Grandma

Love to Jack"
