Dear Shelby,
Thanks for the nice letter.
I love the drawing of the house. I know it will be beautiful. It looks like a real country home. I can just picture it with trees all around & lots of shade.
I just called Ruth & she said Harold seems better today. Dr. Shore thought he was a goner two weeks ago. He has an enlarged liver & it has cysts all over it. His kidneys are the same. It is his kidneys that are causing the trouble just now. They are getting worse & he is still bleeding inwardly. The nurse comes 2 times a week. Their son Ray was home for a few days last week. He lives in Oklahoma. Tulsa, to be exact.
Rhubarb is a very tart long stalk about 12" to 15" long. It grows in a bush. It has big leaves that are poisonous. The stalk, cooked with strawberries makes a great pie. I remember when I was small, eating rhubarb for a spring tonic, like sulphur & molasses.
Did you get many strawberries from the farm?
I hope you are careful of ticks & poison ivy when you are cleaning out the brush.
Well hon, snce there really isn't any news at this end, I'll close and hope I hear from you soon. Take care.
Love Always,
Grandma
Love to Jack! How do you like this card?
